Morris Material Handling has been awarded a contract for inspections and preventive maintenance for almost 90 overhead and jib cranes at the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, plant of PMX Industries, a copper processor. What clinched the order was that one evening, PMX called its local Morris aftermarket sales rep about a critical breakdown. There were no Morris technicians in the immediate area, so the sales rep, a one-time service technician, went in at 8 p.m. and worked on the crane himself, getting it running by 2:30 a.m.MRO
