Cascades produces, converts and markets packaging products, including boxboard and carton board, as well as fine specialty papers and tissue papers. The company has expertise in the recycling and de-inking of fibres. Its Montreal-based division, Recuperation Cascades, is dedicated to the management of fine paper recycling. It collects waste paper by providing its customers with extended-height bulk boxes from Buckhorn Canada in which to store their waste. In order to facilitate moving the boxes easily from the point of use to the pickup location, especially in high-rise office towers, the company added heavy-duty casters to the solid, one-piece base of an extended-length Buckhorn bulk box. This box is easier to handle and has a greater capacity than the previous box, so the company is able to reduce the frequency of pickups and save on its labour and transport costs. Extended-length boxes measure 1,640 mm by 1,220 mm by 860 mm high (64 1/2 in. by 48 in. by 34 in.).
