The Canadian government will provide almost $3 million in funding for a project by the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum-Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF-FCA). The CAF-FCA Infrastructure project is funded by the federal Sector Council Program.

“I strongly believe that this new funding will help promote apprenticeship as an effective training and educational system,” said Pat O’Brien, Member of Parliament for London-Fanshawe, on behalf of the Honourable Joe Volpe, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development.

The project will support CAF-FCA activities during a 48-month period to maintain and expand its administrative and operational capacity to promote apprenticeship and to support Canada’s apprenticeship systems.

“The investment … reinforces the importance of skilled trades to Canada’s economy and the value of collaborative efforts of apprenticeship stakeholders from across the country,” said Keith Lancastle, executive director of CAF-FCA.
