For its 30th anniversary, the Ontario Bearing and Power Transmission Golf Tournament and Resort Weekend returned to Niagara Falls, ON, on September 26-28, 2008. The tournament took place at the Thundering Waters course.

The event began in 1978 with a few friends from within the industry gather- ing for a round of golf. Over the years the event has grown into an organized weekend that has catered to hundreds of people from within the industry. Once only a round of golf, with a snack after the 18 holes, it is now an full weekend getaway for many of the participants.

In addition to the golf, attendees in the past have enjoyed participating in tennis, miniature golf, social functions, dances, tours and fashion shows. Any surplus funds, less startup funds for the following year’s event, are donated to charities or used to support needy causes within the industry.

The weekend is open to those who work in, or are retired from, the bearing, power transmission or related business, their spouses and other family members. Individuals from manufacturers, distributors or agents, be they owners, presidents, truck drivers, sales people, administrative or others are invited to attend, and in fact the event is not just Ontario-based, as partipants come from other parts of Canada as well as the United States.
