Proactive Process Development

James Gunn, one of PEMAC’s 2015 Capstone Project Winners will be presenting his Maintenance Management Professional Capstone Project: Proactive Process Development, during this lunch and learn webcast.

The Capstone is the final project course of the Maintenance Management Professional program. Capstone Course participants, often working in teams, analyze the real-life maintenance management realities at one of their places of employment and work together to apply the relevant concepts from the MMP program to make a recommendation to advance proactive practices. The Capstone Course instructors nominate the best project proposals in their classes each year and two are chosen for the Capstone Awards. This session will feature the winning students’ presentations of the just-announced Capstone Awards in the ‘Business Process’ and ‘Technical’ categories.

Join James as he shares how his organization found a solution to assist with its pumps and rolls. Finding them highly reactive, leading to lost production, as well as a backlog of overhauls due to a limited skills trade, James was able to implement a strategy of proactive process development. Learn how this strategy has led to $2.51M of increased production over 5 years, $460,000 of freed-up capital, as well as a maintenance efficiency improvement.
