Spring Grove, Ill. – Intermatic Incorporated, a leader in energy management solutions, today announced the successful completion of its second annual Contractors Council Advisory Conference. Held in Scottsdale, Arizona, the event was kicked off with a mini-trade show featuring both new and established Intermatic products. The next two days included working sessions, product evaluations and panel discussions.

Intermatic’s Contractors Council was formed in 2014 as a key component of the company’s formal Voice of the Customer initiative and consists of representatives from a variety of different electrical contractor firms from across the United States. The Annual Conference provides a platform for Intermatic to capture its contractor customers’ perspectives on everything from market needs and trends to new product concepts. “Intermatic has made it our first priority to listen to the voice of the customer and let their needs drive our product development,” said Liz Jacobs, Intermatic Vice President of Marketing. “We value the opportunity to get their input on our strategic direction.”

During the Conference, Intermatic representatives shared how the company acted on the Council’s recommendations from the prior year, especially on how Council input impacted product development. In response, members of the Council expressed appreciation at having a forum to present their feedback. John Zelman, of Brandt Electric in Dallas, Texas, put it this way: “The adjustments your Engineering department made to your products, based on the comments from our first conference, shows your commitment to providing the industry with true choices, not just in manufacturers, but inside product lines.”

Also reflecting on the Conference, Nick Jonson of EC Electrical, stated: “Intermatic is a professional, classy organization that places its customers and end users first in their drive to stay at the top of their industry.” Tony Staiano, of Miller Electric Company, said: “The Council is a good way for contractors to provide feedback and effect change in the industry. It allows us to have input on the design and functionality of future products.”
