Earn while you learn: training in the machine, tool, die & mould sector

The Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA) is pleased to be continuing the innovative Introductory Trades Training Program to help employers create another 100+ new positions for youth (ages 18-29) who are Residents of Ontario and have the right attitude & aptitude to work in the MTDM industry.

This year, the program will feature a new 42-week Earn While You Learn Stream.  The program provides youth participants with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive an hourly wage while they are training.  Four additional intakes are being offered that start in February, June, September & December 2016.

Learn the following skills:
•  Manual Milling/Machining
•  Manual Lathe Operation
•  CNC Milling/Machining
•  CNC Lathe Operation
•  CAD / CAM (i.e. Powermill & Mastercam)

Selected youth will receive a minimum of $12.00 per hour for 40 hours per week while they train for 42 weeks in Windsor, Ontario (temporary relocation may be required).  Safety boots, hand tools and all equipment are provided free of charge and graduates will earn a Certificate of Completion and be provided with assistance in finding full time employment.  This is part of the CTMA’s Introductory Trades Training Program and is open to all Ontario youth aged 18-29 who are Residents of Ontario and have the attitude and aptitude to start a successful career in the Machining, Tool & Die, and Mould Making industry.
