Abrasives firm begins construction of new manufacturing plant

Superior 1Vandalia, OH РSuperior Abrasives, LLC, has finalized plans for a new, 100,000-sq-ft manufacturing plant at the corner of Peters Pike and Fieldstone Way in Vandalia, OH. The facility will be located within Stonequarry Crossings, on a 12-acre lot that Superior Abrasives has purchased from the City of Vandalia, minutes north of the company’s current location in Dayton, OH.

Superior Abrasives held a groundbreaking ceremony in March 2015 with local officials and employees. The two-storey facility will feature a modern design with an all-glass exterior, giving it an open and welcoming appearance. The new building will also bring new opportunities for customers to visit and use the facility as a training centre.

The building will have a new training room with up-to-date technology, as well as a state-of-the-art testing lab that can be used for product training by distributors and end users. The new lab will have six testing centres equipped for product testing, training and development.

Superior Abrasives manufactures coated and non-woven abrasive products for the industrial metalworking industry, and its clients are located in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. The company has enough land to add another 80,000 sq ft if needed.

The manufacturer employs 85 full-time workers and is planning to hire about 25 more over the next three years. It plans on moving into its new building in early 2016.

Superior Abrasives, established in Dayton in 1961 as Superior Rotary Tools, is a privately held company. To learn more, visit www.superiorabrasives.com.
