VIDEO: Harting Canada CEO reports market growth

Harting’s North America is outpacing company growth and is showing 39 per cent growth in Canada alone, said Jon DeSouza, president and CEO of Harting Canada and Harting North America, at Harting's press conference held at the Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto on January 28.

“Our Canadian revenues grew at almost double the pace of our U.S. revenues, albeit from a much smaller base,” said DeSouza. “It’s hugely gratifying for us to see such continuing success three years after we launched Harting Canada to give the company a full-time direct presence here.”

Top Canadian markets in FY2014, according to DeSouza, were automation, broadcast and machinery. Significant progress is also being tracked in energy, machinery/robotics and medical markets.

Top product lines in device connectivity and industrial connectivity lead the way in Canada. The company has recently won several projects in backplane systems solutions in the broadcast market, cable assembly, and Ethernet connectivity, said DeSouza. 

Harting Canada expects double-digit growth in Canada, forecasting between 18 – 20 per cent growth in the current period. “We believe this [growth] trend will continue, as people become more aware of what we can do for them.”


Harting is no longer only a supplier of components, said DeSouza. Instead, the company is on a pathway to being a provider of assembly and software solutions. “It really is about customers becoming aware that you can integrate and combine power, signal and data all in one connector.”
