Parker Hannifin Corporation has expanded its Standard LV Series Pneumatic Lockout Valve with new Compact and High Flow versions, extending the application range of the series with additional body and port sizes. The lockouts are installed in pneumatic drop legs or individual pneumatic control lines. In compliance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR Part 1010, the lockout valves are used during the maintenance of pneumatically operated equipment. The valves help protect maintenance personnel from being harmed by a machine that might otherwise engage while they are working on it.

The Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) released a new report titled “From the World to the Workforce: Hiring and Recruitment Perceptions of Engineering Employers and Internationally Trained Engineers in Ontario.” Based on surveys and interviews with engineering employers and surveys of internationally trained engineers or ITEs (engineering graduates who have already immigrated and currently live in Ontario), findings suggest an apparent “disconnect” that is working to the disadvantage of both ITEs seeking employment in engineering and Canadian employers that are striving to meet their human resources needs.

CSA certifies Hipower Systems diesel and natural gas generator lines
September 05, 2014 – Hipower Systems, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment in the U.S. and Canada, today announced that the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) has certified two of its natural gas generator lines for the CSA-C22.2 No. 14-13 and No. 100-04 (R2013) standards in Class 4215 01―Electric Generating Plants. With this certification, all Hipower Systems backup natural gas generators in the 20 to 400 Kw range, as well as its prime power/rental natural gas generators from 20 Kva up to 430 Kva, are fully CSA certified. The certified natural gas generators join the Hipower Systems diesel generator line, the majority of which were already certified by the CSA.
