Health and Safety Awareness Training for workers and supervisors
A new regulation that requires health and safety awareness training for every worker and supervisor under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) came into force July 1, 2014.
The requirements are covered in the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation (O. Reg. 297/13) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
The ministry has developed new, free and optional awareness training guidance tools to help employers comply with the mandatory health and safety awareness training. These guidance tools help employers assess whether their training programs meet the minimum requirements.
