Glen Ellyn, IL −A total of 100% of attendees at the Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) 2014 Winter Meeting in Tampa, FL, said the meeting met or exceeded their expectations. Although all attendees pursued full agendas in the BSA committees, many rate the opportunity to meet and network with others in the industry as a top priority for attending.
In addition to the regular committee meetings, the 2014 Winter Meeting also featured presentations addressing three important current business issues: Benchmarking, Conflict Minerals, and Big Data.
• Dr. Albert Bates, president of Profit Planning Group, held a lunch presentation to review how BSA members can use the BSA Performance Analysis Report to benchmark their companies and increase profitability.
• Joel Pekay, sales and marketing director of Intertek Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, addressed a positive approach to conflict minerals compliance.
• The Information Technology and Supply Chain Committee meeting featured a presentation by Paul Buchanan, Founder and President of BUCS Analytics, on big data.
The positive meeting review came from 100% of those responding to the post-meeting evaluation. The compact Winter Meeting schedule and relaxed atmosphere enhanced networking opportunities.
