Venice, Italy – The EPTDA (European Power Transmission Distributors Association) has wrapped up a successful business convention, which will go down in the organisation’s history as one of the biggest and greatest events of its times. Hosted in the backdrop of the magical city of Venice, the 2013 convention welcomed close to 400 decision makers, business owners and leaders from 182 qualified distributing, manufacturing and guest companies in the power transmission and motion control (PT/MC) industry.

The EPTDA annual convention serves professionals in the sector from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This year’s event, held Sept. 18-20, facilitated over 800 B2B meetings between distributors and manufacturers at its Manufacturer-Distributor IDea EXchange (MD-IDEX).

More than 30 countries were represented this year from all around the world.

The convention program included the presentation of a five-year strategic business plan, with strong focus on adding value for end users and strengthening the supply chain. The association also announced its commitment to expand its footprint in the Middle East and Africa region. At the same time, it launched a new website featuring a Product Locator micro-site, a unique channel to promote EPTDA members, their products and services to customers.

Alan Beaulieu, and economic consultant, made his fourth appearance for EPTDA, providing insights into the economic dimension of home and emerging markets.

Continuing its strive for ethical business and social responsibility, EPTDA this year supported Italian charity IESCUM (European Institute for the Study of Human Behaviour). EPTDA, members and convention delegates contributed altogether EUR 10,900 to IESCUM’s research activities for the alleviation of developmental disorders such as autism.
