Calgary, AB – The MainTrain conference committee has released its 2013 conference schedule, which features skill-building sessions, interactive workshops, technical sessions, case studies and supplier presentations covering a wide range of maintenance, reliability and asset management subject areas.
The four-day conference takes place at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel Calgary, Nov. 18-21, 2013.
MainTrain is organized by the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada (PEMAC), however all are welcome to attend, not just association members. PEMAC’s annual general meeting takes place on the evening of Nov. 18 at the conference. As well, PEMAC’s Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) Module 1 course will be presented over two days of the event.
The spectrum of asset intensive industries represented includes Canadian and global oil and gas, mining, electrical utilities, water treatment, chemical, and pulp and paper.
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield is the keynote speaker for a gala dinner. As well, there will be daily keynote addresses from international speakers, including Larry Cote, Canadian Institute for Non Destructive Evaluation; John Hardwick, Networks NSW (Australian Electrical Utility), who will discuss ‘The Journey from Maintenance to Asset Management’; Nezar Shammasi, Saudi Aramco, on the topic of ‘Maintenance, A Pillar for Operational Excellence’; Joaoa Lafraia, Petrobras, who will look at ‘The Critical Nature of Leadership and Culture’; and Rob Lash of Toronto Water, the current PEMAC president.
Among the various conference sessions, Machinery & Equipment MRO magazine contributing editor Tex Leugner will present a session on Nov. 19 on Effective Data Collection for Thorough Failure Analysis; while magazine columnist Cliff Williams of ERCO Worldwide will hold a session called Canada’s Got Talent on Nov. 20. As well, former MRO magazine contributor Leonard Middleton of Asset Management Solutions is a co-presenter of PEMAC’s MMP Module 1 course.
