Fortress mGard interlocks receive TUV SUD safety approval

July 29, 2013 – Fortress Interlocks says its mGard range of safety interlocks has achieved approval from TUV SUD, boasting it is now the only trapped key manufacturer to carry third-party approval on its trapped key range of interlocks for use up to SIL3/PLe. Trapped key interlocking safeguards machinery or potentially dangerous areas by ensuring procedures are followed in the proper sequence. The mGard range’s fail-safe design has undergone Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and over 100 different safety tests, says Fortress. The mGard range is suitable for applications across a range of industries, such as manufacturing, food and drink processing, washdown or explosion-proof applications.
