Timken makes a slew of staff appointments

Canton, OH — The Timken Company has appointed Peter M. Sproson to the position of president for the company’s China business, succeeding Leong Fang, who plans to retire at the end of the year after a 28-year career at the company. In this role, Sproson will lead the Timken business in China, the company’s second-largest geographic sales region. Sproson most recently held the position of vice president – mobile industries within the Bearings and Power Transmissions segment.
Timken also appointed Ajay Das to the position of vice president -quality advancement, and Sanjay Koul to the position of managing director and director of manufacturing operations in India. As well, the company has appointed Philip D. Fracassa to senior vice-president of planning and development. In this position, Fracassa leads the company in developing enterprise strategy, including identification and evaluation of growth opportunities.
As well, Timken appointed four new leaders within its Bearings and Power Transmission group, reporting to Christopher A. Coughlin, group president:
• John W. Beam, vice president for supply chain;
• Richard M. Boyer, vice president of manufacturing;
• Hans Landin, vice president of business advancement; and
• Michael P. Morgan, controller.
In yet a another announcement, Timken named Andreas Roellgen to the position of vice-president of process industries and managing director of Europe, and appointed Brian J. Ruel to the position of vice-president off- highway, light vehicle systems and rail, with responsibility to lead the company’s growth in these market sectors.
