Fairfield, OH — Force Control Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of oil shear clutches and brakes, is bringing a travelling roadshow to western Canada through October 2012, providing an opportunity for hands-on demonstrations to maintenance, engineering, purchasing and plant management teams.
Participants can better understand oil shear technology and how it can increase production while significantly reducing costs.
The roadshow route includes Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
The roadshow trailer includes product demos, cut-a-ways, and more. Visitors can find out what oil shear technology is all about, learn about MagnaShear motor brakes, and see clutch brakes index accurately at 200 cycles per minute.
To learn more specifics about the roadshow schedule, contact Force Control Industries at 800-829-3244, or send an email to email@example.com with ‘RoadShow’ in the subject line.
What is oil shear technology?
Unlike dry brakes, oil shear technology includes a layer of automatic transmission fluid between the brake disc and the drive plate. The fluid is compressed, putting the fluid molecules in shear – thus imparting torque to the other side. This torque transmission causes the fixed surface to bring the rotating surface down to stop. Since most of the work is done by the fluid particles in shear, wear is virtually eliminated. Elimination of wear also eliminates the need for adjustments, which are common for dry braking systems.
In addition to transmitting torque, a patented fluid recirculation system helps to dissipate heat, which is the major problem with traditional dry brakes. Along with heat removal and torque transmission, the fluid serves to continually lubricate all components of the oil shear brake, elongating their service life.
Brakes and clutch-brakes with oil shear technology provide significantly longer service life, characterized by virtually maintenance-free operations.
Force Control Industries offers a full line of clutches, brakes and clutch brakes for industry in diverse applications.
