Victoria, BC — More than 220 participated in the 11th annual Canadian Conference of the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) in Victoria, BC, June 7-9, 2012.

The Canadian power transmission/motion control industry met to network and heard from thought-leaders on the topics of business, economics, demographics and the environment, as well as getting updates on the mining industry and working with the aboriginal market.

During the conference, a group of industry veterans known as the Shakers & Makers spiced things up at the Welcome Reception by cross-dressing on a dare to raise money for The 2012 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting The Campbell Family Institute at The Princess Margaret. The Shakers represent distributors and the Makers manufacturers.

Their fundraising efforts helped the group raise a total of $46,256.
