Walter products suitable for food facilities: Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Walter Surface Technologies has announced that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has accepted an additional four products to the roster of Walter products suitable for use in food-processing facilities.
“Most major international companies achieve acceptance for a few products. Walter now proudly scores with a total of 21,” says Patrick Lapointe, vice-president of marketing with Walter Surface Technologies International. “This significant announcement underscores Walter’s commitment to improving work processes without compromising safety. This is paramount for the food/beverage industry, and the reason why companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola and Pepsico trust our products.”
Jean Chiasson, technical specialist with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, states: “Based on review, no objection will be taken to the use of the 4 non-food compounds in food facilities, provided that they are used in keeping with the instructions outlined on the labels.”
The four newly accepted Walter products are:
· AF-Clean: A safe and eco-friendly cleaner used to prepare surfaces for a wide range of applications including painting, priming, coating, gluing, corrosion protection, and cleaning moulds prior to plastic injection. Removes contaminants including machining oils, corrosion-protection films, separating agents, traces of smoke, and light waxes.
· Alustar 200: A concentrated alkaline cleaner/degreaser used for cleaning aluminum and other non-ferrous alloys in automated parts-washing systems. Dissolves oil, grease, lubricants, and grime.
· Alustar 300: An extra-strength alkaline cleaner/degreaser for ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Excellent for heavy-duty maintenance, as well as repair and overhaul cleaning applications. It also helps with fast and efficient removal of the most persistent contaminants on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
· Star 200: A concentrated alkaline cleaner/degreaser for ferrous alloys, steel and stainless steel in automated parts-washing applications. Exhibits excellent dissolving capabilities on oil, grease, lubricants, and grime.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s vision and mission is to safeguard the food that Canadians consume. The Agency is responsible for developing guidelines and regulations that not only maintain the safety and sustainability of the plant and animal resources which are the source of our foods, but also contribute to the health and well-being of Canada’s people, environment and economy.
