Marlborough, MA — Ruland Manufacturing Co. Inc., a manufacturer of couplings and shaft collars, and Belden Inc., a manufacturer of universal joints, have started a joint venture in Europe, PTMotion GmbH. The new company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany.

 

Ruland and Belden have joined forces in Europe to better serve OEM customers in Germany and other European markets, to generate new business, and to manage distributor relationships. The new company is headed by managing director Ralf Gabriel, a long-time sales engineer for Belden in Germany. He is assisted by sales engineer Sebastian Recke.

Belden, headquartered in Broadview near Chicago, manufactures precision universal joints and power transmission assemblies. The company history goes back to 1939. Ruland, of Marlborough, MA, manufactures zero-backlash motion control couplings and precision-honed shaft collars. Ruland was founded in 1937.

 

Both companies have been active on the European market for many years.
