Steyr, Austria — Bearing manufacturer NKE Austria has opened its first sales office in China. The objective of the representative office in Shanghai is to improve the service to OEM customers, as well as to establish a nationwide distribution network. The office will be headed by Hansen Mao, who has many years of experience in the bearing industry.

 

With an export share of 94%, NKE exports to more than 60 countries. China is the fourth largest market worldwide for NKE; in 2009 it is expected to grow to the second largest market.

The company sees the growth industries in China to be renewable energies, railway vehicles, gear boxes and general machinery.

 

“The sales office in Shanghai enables us to act faster in the Chinese market as well as better attend to our customers technically and commercially“, explains Heimo Ebner, managing director of NKE. “Customer proximity is the cornerstone of our success. With the new representative office we have now 15 sales offices in 12 countries.”

 

At its Steyr base in Austria, NKE employs 180 people, offering both standard and special bearings for all industrial applications. NKE’s products are distributed through 15 international representative offices and more than 240 distribution outlets in 60 countries. It’s Canadian distributor is Global Bear Inc., Dorval, QC.
