Indianapolis, IN — Diamond Chain Company, which designs and manufactures roller chain, has entered into a joint venture with the KMC Group, its longtime strategic partner and China’s leading roller chain supplier.
The joint venture, Diamond (Weifang) Power Transmission Company, will substantially expand Diamond Chain’s global operations and position the company for growth around the world.
As the majority partner and the only U.S. manufacturer exclusively focused on roller chain technology, Diamond Chain will fully utilize all of its product and manufacturing expertise to create more value for its power transmission customers, said Mike Swiderski, president of Diamond Chain Company.
“This joint venture effectively allows Diamond Chain and KMC to fully leverage our core competitive strengths for the benefit of our customers worldwide,” he said.
“Diamond brand ANSI products continue to be manufactured exclusively at Diamond Chain’s headquarters in Indianapolis, IN,” added Swiderski. “Diamond’s British Standard and Sapphire brand products will now be manufactured by the joint-venture operations under the technical and manufacturing control of Diamond Chain management.”
Diamond Chain Company, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a division of Amsted Industries and supplies ANSI roller chain to original equipment manufacturers and industrial distributors serving the replacement (MRO) market.
