Toronto, ON — Machinery & Equipment MRO magazine has received an Award of Excellence in APEX 2007, the 19th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence competition.
Sponsored by Communications Concepts, the international APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.
The submission by Bill Roebuck, editor of Machinery & Equipment MRO, was selected from among a total of almost 5,000 entries. He received an Award of Excellence in the Magapapers & Newspapers category for the November 2006 issue of the magazine. There were 145 contenders in that category alone.
Machinery & Equipment MRO, a Toronto-based trade magazine established in 1985, is issued six times a year to a controlled circulation of 18,000 involved in the machinery & equipment and maintenance, repair & operations industries across Canada. With a pass-along average of 3.8 copies per issue, total readership is more than 68,000.
Apex Awards are given in 105 communications subcategories, under 11 major categories.
This is the second award Machinery & Equipment MRO has received in 2007, and the fourth in the past two years. In June, the magazine received a Gold Kenneth R Wilson Award for Editorial Excellence in the Best How-To Article category. The award, sponsored by the Canadian Business Press, was presented to Lloyd (Tex) Leugner, technical editor, and Bill Roebuck, editor, for an article published in 2006 on test and measurement technologies.
The magazine has received several other Gold, Silver, Top 5 and Top 10 Wilson Award nominations since its inception. It also received an APEX award last year, the first time it entered that competition.
