Vancouver, BC — On October 24, 2006, Spark Robotics Technology Inc. was awarded with the prestigious title of “Best Pre-Revenue Company” at Vancouver Angel Forum’s 20th Annual Investor’s Choice Awards.
Spark (www.sparkrobotics.com) is a Vancouver-based company developing systems for the remote or driverless operation of existing heavy industrial equipment with an initial focus on the shipping industry and later for the mining, and defence industries.
Out of more than 70 applications, 36 companies were selected to present and Spark was chosen best of the pre-revenue companies. The award was presented by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in attendance of nearly 100 investors and most early stage venture capital funds in Vancouver.
“Whether controlled from across the room, across the continent, or without an operator at all, Spark will have a profound impact on how businesses use their mobile ground equipment” said Harbir Boparai, president and CEO of Spark.
The Vancouver Angel Forum (www.angelforum.org) has raised over $20 million, introducing companies to private equity investors since 1997.
