Stockholm, Sweden — Saab Aerotech has signed a support and maintenance contract with Field Aviation of Canada — which has with major operation centres in Calgary and Toronto — to provide a support solution for the Swedish Coast Guard’s (SCG) new Dash 8 aircraft. The new support contract is a turnkey solution where Saab will provide full integrated logistic support, maintenance and engineering services for the aircraft platform, engines and mission systems. The first aircraft are expected to be delivered in early 2007. With options the support contract can extend through 2014.
All support activities will be provided on-site at the SCG main base in Nykping, Sweden, where Saab Aerotech currently provides support for the SCG fleet of three CASA 212 aircraft.
During a transition period expected to run through 2007, Saab will assist the Swedish Coast Guard with maintenance and support service of both types.
