Mississauga, ON — Ontario’s new Centre for Health & Safety Innovation (CHSI) will officially open Sept. 20, 2006.
The new facility is a central campus and meeting place for health and safety partners to exchange knowledge, learning, and innovation.
Located at the junction of Creekbank Rd. and Tech Ave. in Mississauga, Ont., it is home to the Electrical & Utilities Safety Association (EUSA), Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA), Ontario Service Safety Alliance (OSSA), and the Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario (THSAO).
The four founding partners — which serve 80% of Ontario’s workers — are committed to making the Centre a focal point for innovation and applied learning in the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses.
“The Centre for Health & Safety Innovation is the nexus for health and safety in Ontario, bringing the world’s best knowledge to our workplaces through this state-of-the-art facility,” says Maureen C. Shaw, president & CEO of IAPA and chair of the CHSI board of directors.
The grand opening, which will begin at 10 a.m., will include presentations by health and safety organizations, labour industry partners, government dignitaries, and community partners, as well as formal tours of the facility and live entertainment.
