Calgary, AB — The TurboCare Inc. division of Siemens Canada Ltd., Mississauga, Ont., has acquired Kadon Electro Mechanical Services Ltd., Calgary, Alta. As a result, Kadon becomes a member of the TurboCare group of companies, a Siemens subsidiary with worldwide operations, reports Don Clews, president of TurboCare.
“Kadon is an integral component to expanding our business initiatives in Western Canada,” says Clews. “We are confident that by building on Kadon’s three decades of outstanding service to the Canadian marketplace, we will leverage the vast capabilities of both companies, creating an even stronger local presence, better meeting the changing needs of our customers.”
“Kadon has been an authorized repair centre of Siemens and its subsidiaries for years, and we are pleased to continue building on this successful partnership under our existing management team,” said Jim Mugford, president of Kadon.
“TurboCare is a leader in providing integrated aftermarket solutions, including repair services and replacement parts for virtually all makes of turbomachinery, and specializes in the design, manufacture and application of engineered component and repair upgrades. This combination will provide many key benefits to our customers, and we look forward to continuing to serve their turbomachinery and rotating equipment repair requirements.”
Kadon services a wide-range of turbomachinery and electro-mechanical rotating equipment and provides parts refurbishment and manufacturing. The company has been an allied partner with Siemens Power Generation for the past 18 years, servicing the former Westinghouse and Demag Delaval nameplate machines.
“We anticipate a seamless transition,” says Mugford. “The terms of existing orders and contracts will remain unchanged, and other than our change in ownership, all local contact information (postal and email addresses, telephone and fax numbers) remain unchanged.”
