Chicago, IL — The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) Foundation announced today it will launch an integrated marketing campaign for its major workforce development initiative, the Industrial Careers Pathway (ICP).
Under the leadership of the PTDA Foundation, 19 distribution and two manufacturer associations representing the industrial distribution channel and two regional development organizations are collaborating to build the ICP in the United States and Canada.
ICP objectives include:
— Actively promoting careers in the industrial distribution channel.
— Developing community college programs to teach business, technical and distribution basics to new and experienced employees.
— Helping distributors and manufacturers enhance how they hire, train and promote employees.
To accomplish these objectives, the PTDA will launch a major marketing campaign in 2006. In addition to a wide array of marketing, communication and public relation vehicles, the campaign will include:
— Independent ICP brand identity, including a new logo developed exclusively for use by all initiative stakeholders.
— Stand-alone website, scheduled to debut in August 2006. Sections targeted at different audiences will use images, testimonials and factoids designed to appeal to each group.
— Periodic newsletter to provide updates on initiative progress, share success stories, communicate upcoming events, promote participation opportunities and more.
The ICP Partner Alliance includes the following organizations:
— American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association
— ASA Education Foundation
— Association for High Technology Distribution
