Glen Ellyn, IL — The 2006 Annual Convention of the Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) is scheduled for April 22-25 at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, Sarasota, Fla., BSA works hard to present a timely business program that meets the needs of its convention attendees.

This year the association is hosting a World Forum Panel designed to educate BSA Convention attendees on how distribution functions in other parts of the world.

BSA’s Strategic Plan charged its Task Force on International Opportunities with increasing participation of international authorized distributors and manufacturers by creating opportunities for BSA distributor members and manufacturers to establish relationships around the world with other distributors.

The association has assembled a distinguished panel to accomplish this goal. Panel participants will be Mark Dixon, COO, WYKO Industrial Services Limited; Carl James, president/CEO, BDI; Deiter Keutemier, VP & GM Distribution-North America, Barden/FAG/INA; Dan Muller, VP – distribution management, The Timken Corporation; and Leda Sabbagh, CEO, Rolamentos CBF Ltda. The World Forum Panel will be moderated by Peter Negri, Jamaica Bearings Company, Inc. BSA’s Task Force on International Opportunities is chaired by Craig Faber, Miller Bearings, Inc.

In honour of the 40th anniversary, BSA will be recognizing the 12 companies that were among the original association member who are still an active part of BSA.

As well, BSA will continue its tradition of welcoming representatives from additional industry groups to provide appropriate updates to the BSA attendees. Robert Swinehart, president – COO Emerson Power Transmission and president of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA) will address the attendees.

Also speaking will be John A. Luke, Jr., chairman and CEO of MeadWestvaco Corporation and chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and Ron Schreibman, senior vice president-strategic direction for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW).

Conference Tables are always a big part of the convention. Registered attendees can sign up for them online via BSA’s convention website, where complete details on the event are available: www.bsaconventions.org.
