Brussels, Belgium — The European Power Transmission Distributors Association (EPTDA) will hold its 2005 annual convention in Prague, Czech Republic, from Sept. 28-30. The convention’s theme is "Welcoming New European Challenges."

With the accession of Central European countries to the European Union (EU), the EPTDA convention is aimed at providing access to new markets and create a forum for discussions and information on these new developments. The convention offers members and guest companies an opportunity to expand their business networks during meetings and social activities. EPTDA welcomes guest companies and first-time attendees at the meeting.

The convention program features high-profile speakers who will share their views in seminars such as "Alliances, networks and cooperations — joining forces to be competitive," and "Management messages for modern managers — making attendants rethink project management."

In addition, the Manufacturer-Distributor Idea Exchange (MD-IDEX) program provides a unique platform for productive communication and networking between distributors and manufacturers.

The convention takes place at the Hilton Hotel Prague, located on the right bank of the River Vltava. For spouses and accompanying guests, sightseeing tours and activities will be available.

Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Brussels, EPTDA is the largest organization of distributors and manufacturers of power transmission and motion control products on a European level. EPTDA is currently representing 191 companies from 17 countries, including the U.S.A. and Canada, including 71 manufacturers of power transmission/motion control products, 114 distributors, and six associate members that provide services directly related to the industry. The EPTDA’s target for the new year is to attract members also from Eastern Europe.
