Edmonton, AB — Commercial Solutions Inc. of Edmonton has elected three new directors, two of which are considered independent. The new board members are Stephen Kent, Richard Smith and Greg Florence.

Kent, a resident of Edmonton, is the managing partner of the Foundation Group, a private investment banking firm. Over the past 15 years, he has been the lead advisor on numerous acquisitions, divestitures and corporate finance transactions in a number of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, service, energy and technology. He is considered an independent director

Smith, a resident of Calgary, is president and CEO of Dow AgroSciences Canada Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. He has management experience in the life sciences area, including human pharmaceuticals, animal health and plant sciences, as well as a number of commercialization initiatives in plant biotechnology. Smith is considered an independent director.

Florence, a resident of Regina, is director, investments of FCC Ventures, the private equity/venture capital division of Farm Credit Canada. He has over 20 years experience in private and public equity, as well as dealing with regulatory and corporate governance issues.
