Uxbridge, ME — AC Technology is adding 94,000 more square feet to its existing 33,000 sq ft headquarters in Uxbridge, Maine.

“The expansion is a sign of our success, and symbolizes our commitment, too,” says company president Allen Ottoson. According to company officials, spring of 2005 is proposed as the completion date. The plan has been to get the foundation and shell of the new building ready before the winter, so the work can continue indoors during the harsher weather months.

“This investment in infrastructure strategically supports our mission to be the premier drive manufacturer serving North America,” says managing director David Reece.

According to Peter Joyal, vice-president of manufacturing, as more and more visitors from all over the world tour the plant, the expanded building will help support the image of professionalism that defines AC Tech in a position of leadership in motion control products. The added space will provide the needed room to accommodate an increased range of products, allow the company to create an environment focussed on teamwork, and improve the efficiency of product flow, he says.

The new building will bring again under one roof all the different departments within AC Tech, including manufacturing, sales, marketing, engineering, customer support, human resources, and finance, which had been located in two separate buildings.

A member of the Lenze Group, AC Technology develops and manufactures a complete range of motion control products, from the SimpleServo series, to components such as brakes and clutch-brakes, gears and gearmotors, and off-the-shelf, general-purpose variable frequency AC motor drives.
