Toronto, ON — Recipients of the 2004 Awards of Excellence from the Yves Landry Foundation, which will be presented at the 5th Annual STARS Technological Education Awards Gala Celebration on Nov. 18 in Toronto, are individuals and businesses that best exemplify the vision of the late Yves Landry, chairman, president and CEO of Chrysler Canada from 1990-1998.
The winners have also been selected for forging a link between business, education and government, and promoting technological education and skills training in order to address the upcoming shortages that industry will be facing.
The awards are as follows:
PERSON OF THE YEAR: Frank Stronach, founder and chairman of Magna International Inc.
COMPANY OF THE YEAR: Research In Motion.
PROGRAM OF THE YEAR: Alberta Learning, Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
