Mississauga, ON — Members of IDI Independent Distributors Inc. now have a new way of recognizing preferred vendors that deliver outstanding value to their customers. IDI has introduced a Seal of Approval logo as a visual tool that can be used by those vendors who fulfill the prerequisites of the industrial buying group’s Seal of Approval program.
The new tool will enable IDI members to easily recognize special-status vendors so that members can investigate their offerings first when looking for additional value. Members can then capitalize on these strengths and pass along the benefits to their own respective customers.
“We’re opening the lines of communication,” says John Morrison, director of sales and marketing for IDI. “Our members can now visibly recognize our most valued vendors and look to them first for the best solutions to fit their needs.”
The new program was introduced at IDI’s annual general meeting, held in January. Vendors qualifying for the program will be able to access and use the symbol in order to demonstrate to members that they have attained special status among IDI’s vendor base.
As well, vendors qualifying for the Seal of Approval program will be given greater accessibility and business flexibility within the vendor section of IDI’s website.
“We’ve been working out the details of the new program for the last six months,” says Morrison. “We took advantage of the January general meeting to introduce the concept. Reception among vendors and members was very favourable.”
“The Seal of Approval program will be restricted to those vendors who provide product excellence and outstanding customer service. Individual vendor participation in the program will be re-evaluated on an annual basis,” says Morrison.
