Toronto, ON — A special discount related to boosting events in the Toronto area has been announced for the three-day Performance Measures for Plant Maintenance conference, which takes place May 28-30, 2003, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel in the city.
The idea grew from other organizations that have offered discounts for various events in the city in as a result of the SARS virus concern, which has now abated.
The conference is designed to be of interest to maintenance managers; maintenance engineers; plant managers; preventive maintenance staff (manager, specialist, supervisor, etc.); plant engineers; materials managers; quality managers; VPs, directors, and managers of operations; planning managers and facility managers.
Performance measures can help to improve productivity, reduce costs and increase competitiveness. The conference brings together senior maintenance, engineering and production professionals to discuss the challenges and tap into applied practices that can optimize maintenance programs and hold down costs.
The event is co-sponsored by Machinery & Equipment MRO and the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Association of Canada (PEMAC) and is organized by Federated Press of Montreal.

Two optional workshops coincide with the conference and take place in the morning and afternoon of Friday, May 30. The morning session is Improving Your Equipment Availability with Total Productive Maintenance and Autonomous Maintenance, with Rodrigue Gilbert of Deloitte Consulting Inc./Braxton. The afternoon session is Keys to the Successful Implementation of Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM II), with Normand Champigny of IBM Business Consulting Services.
In addition, Performance Measures for Training is a PEMAC presentation on Education and Training being presented during the conference. Learn how collaboration between Industry, Education and Government is preparing for the future through the MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) certification program, providing the education and training for those aspiring to maintenance management positions and professional designation.
