Toronto, ON — Mar. 11, 2003 — Jim Clark, until recently the general manager for Canadian operations for Motion Industries Inc. of Birmingham, Ala., has been named president and general manager of Mi Industrial and Hub Supply.

Mark Sheehan is now president and CEO, Motion Canada, which includes the company’s Montreal, Waterloo, and Lethbridge divisions, says Motion Industries’ president and CEO, Bill Stevens.

Sheehan will continue to serve as group vice-president of Motion Industries, where he is responsible for the East group. He has served Motion Industries in regional and branch manager roles, and began his career with Bearing Chain and Supply, a company that was acquired by Motion Industries in 1984.

Clark began his career with Motion Industries in 1973. He has served as general manager for the Southeast and Southwest divisions. As well, he has held regional and branch manager positions.


Headquartered in Toronto, Motion Canada was founded in 1950 as Oliver Industrial Supply Ltd. Employing more than 600 people, the distributor has 65 branches located in nine provinces, as well as 12 repair centres in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. It also has a distribution warehouse in Calgary and a distribution centre in Lachine, Que.

Mi Industrial, now headed by Clark, is a general industrial supply segment providing mill supplies, safety supplies, janitorial products, and hardware to industrial customers. Hub Supply primarily serves industry with cutting tools and abrasives.

With 2001 sales in excess of $2.2 billion, Motion Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, is the world’s largest distributor of bearings; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power replacement parts; and hose products.
