Vancouver, BC — Mar. 6, 2003 — Dan Slabbert, chairman and chief executive officer of Bearing Power International Limited of Cape Town, South Africa, has appointed Rick Balmer to the position of chairman of the following group companies:

Antifriction Components Limited – United Kingdom; Bearing Power (Ireland) Limited – Ireland; Bearing Power (Asia) Ltd – Hong Kong; Bearing Power (Singapore) Pte Ltd – Singapore; FPT Far East (Pte) Limited – Singapore; and Bearing Power (South Africa) (Pty) – Limited South Africa.

In addition, he has also been appointed as managing director of Bearing Power International Limited – Mauritius.

Balmer joined the group in 1980 and has held various positions within the companies, the most recent being managing director for the United Kingdom and Irish operations. He will be located in Vancouver, B.C., as of June 1, 2003.
