Glen Ellyn, IL — Oct. 7, 2002 — The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) 2002 Fall Meeting in Chicago will mark the first meeting of the Association’s new Distributor/Manufacturer Relations Committee. The meeting takes place Oct. 28-29, 2002, at the Doubletree Hotel O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.

The Committee was recommended by BSA leaders earlier this year as part of the development of the association’s new strategic plan. The proposal was adopted by the BSA board of directors at its annual convention in April 2002. The association says the Distributor/Manufacturer Relations Committee is ideally suited to it as its primary focus is the development of meaningful distributor/manufacturer relationships. BSA says its members and participating manufacturers have found the development of these relationships crucial to the supply chain in which they operate.

Hal Allen, Allied Bearings Supply Co. Inc., has agreed to chair the new committee. Other committee members are Mark Stoneburner, Applied Industrial Technologies; Peter Stoyanoff, Barden Corporation; John Timble, Bearing Headquarters Company; Andy Nations, Bearings & Drives, Inc.; Bruce Clarke, Federal-Mogul Canada Ltd.; Peter Horn, Federal-Mogul Corporation; Chuck Kitchen, Interstate Bearing Technologies; Peter Negri, Jamiaca Bearings Company, Inc.; John R. Emling, Kaydon Corporation; Craig Faber, Miller Bearings, Inc.; Rob Hamilton, Koyo Corporation of U.S.A.; Wayne Law, Motion Industries, Inc.; Bob Ruland, Ruland Manufacturing; Richard Shuster, Shuster Corporation; Jan Lindhe, SKF Canada Limited; Randy Bowen, SKF Service Division; Tony Bonadio, SNR Bearings, USA, Inc.; and Bob Daniel, The Timken Corporation.

In addition to the upcoming 2002 Fall Meeting, the association’s Winter Meeting of committees and the board of directors is February 3-4, 2003, at Saddlebrook Resort, Wesley Chapel, Fla. Its 2003 annual convention is April 26-29 at the Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa, Pasadena, Calif.
