Manheim, PA — Aug. 30, 2002 — Fenner Drives has acquired the business and assets of Eagle Belting Company, a global supplier of urethane belting for mechanical power transmission and material handling applications.

Fenner Drives already has a major presence in the North American market for thermoplastic urethane elastomer belting and accessories. “Combining the Eagle brand with existing Fenner product lines positions us as the market leader in the U.S. and Canada,” said Mike Turek, president of the industrial products division of Fenner.

Eagle Belting Company, founded in 1916, is headquartered in Des Plaines, Ill., and has an extensive, long-standing sales and distribution network throughout North America. The company has a heritage of application expertise and high quality products. Eagle introduced The Original Orange Belt in 1972 which is a standard throughout the world, even today, according to a Fenner spokesman.

Fenner Drives, a division of Fenner Plc, East Yorkshire, U.K., designs and manufactures mechanical power transmission components for a wide range of applications.
