Toronto, ON — May 3, 2002 — Canadian Manufacturing Week (CMW), Sept. 24-26, 2002, at Toronto’s International Centre, will provide the opportunity for exhibitors to meet face-to-face with thousands of potential customers and provide hands-on demonstrations to visitors.

Held every two years, CMW consists of three industry-leading trade shows: the Design Engineering Show, Plant Maintenance & Engineering Show, and Facility & Plant Management Show.

Two new sections have been added to CMW 2002: Industry IT & Software and Materials Handling & Warehouse Equipment.

CMW is sponsored by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA), the Canadian Fluid Power Association (CFPA), the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada (PEMAC), and the Canadian Association of Supply Chain & Logistics Management (SCL).

The SCL will present a supply chain symposium at CMW for registered attendees. The symposium, entitled Lean Logistics, will teach participants how to take lean principles to the next level of achievement by applying them to the supply chain.

At CMW 2000, 6,218 representatives from 3,100 companies attended,” says Reed Exhibitions’ Elaine Harris, CMW Group Show Manager.

The shows that are part of CMW include:

CANADIAN DESIGN ENGINEERING SHOW — A comprehensive display of design engineering in Canada created specifically for engineers and OEMs looking for ideas, technology and business partners to move their projects forward better, smarter, faster.

CANADIAN FACILITY & PLANT MANAGEMENT SHOW — Products and supplies for the operation and maintenance of manufacturing plants, institutional buildings, and municipal facilities.

CANADIAN PLANT ENGINEERING & MAINTENANCE SHOW — Canada’s major source of solutions for the maintenance, repair, overhaul and operation of electrical and mechanical machinery, components, and equipment.

NEW: Canadian Materials Handling & Warehouse Equipment Section (CAN-MAT) — A new exhibit feature products, equipment, technology and services for industry professionals looking to find cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing solutions for the supply chain.

NEW: Industry IT & Software section (ITS) — ITS will be the first feature section at a major manufacturing event in Canada dedicated to IT and software solutions for Canadian industry.
