Greenville, SC – Jan. 22, 2002 — PTplace.com, a business-to-business e-commerce site specifically for distributors and end users (OEMs) of Rockwell Automation, INA, SKF and Timken products, has launched a Canadian version of its website at www.PTplace.ca.

Both distributors and end users can use the site to order selected products, check order status, and view product availability online.

By allowing users to access the Canadian site directly, instead of through a portal on PTplace.com, response time on the new site is improved. Current users will also find improved part number search options. For French-speaking users, Help documents such as Frequently Asked Questions and Tutorials are available in Canadian French.

PTplace.com grew from a May 2001 agreement among Rockwell Automation, INA, SKF and Timken to provide shared web-based services and integrated logistics for their premium-brand products and services. At PTplace.com and PTplace.ca, North American authorized distributors and original equipment manufacturers will find a convenient electronic shopping site for a variety of industrial products.

Advertisment

PTplace.com was created in collaboration with over 40 beta testers and a Distributor Advisory Council of 12 top executives from major industrial distributors, who were involved with the testing and design of the site.

PTplace.ca allows customers and distributors to access, for example, Dodge and Reliance Electric power transmission and drive control products directly through the web. Orders are placed online using a 100,000-item product catalogue pre-populated with default information that reflects the choices and entries made on previous visits to the site, multi-line entry forms, saved purchasing lists, and address books, making customer access to the products and information fast.
