Gteborg, Sweden — Jan. 18, 2002 — THe SKF bearing seals manufacturing plant in Bethlehem, Penn., will be closed at the end of March 2002.
The manufacturing equipment will be transferred to SKF’s Italian seals operations. About 40 employees will be affected by the transfer.
The closing of the U.S. plant is a step in a process to rationalize the production of bearing seals and improve productivity and profitability, an SKF spokesman says.
