Canton, OH — Jan 10, 2002 — The Timken Company has launched a Canadian version of the Timken Store at www.PTplace.com. The addition of Canadian dollar pricing capability to the existing U.S. English and U.S. dollar functionality is aimed to provide better efficiency for authorized Canadian Timken distributors.

Timken manufactures highly engineered bearings, alloy and specialty steels and components, as well as related products and services and has operations in 24 countries.

“The Timken Store at PTplace.com now allows Canadian distributors to conduct business with the U.S. in a very efficient manner, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” said Dan Muller, Timken’s vice-president of distribution management.

“We continue to respond to customer needs on a global scale through our e-business offerings,” said Scott Biltz, global manager of e-business integration. “Our new Canadian presence demonstrates our commitment to serve a diverse business landscape. We’re committed to providing leading-edge eE-business tools for our distributor partners.”

In January 2001, Timken announced an agreement to join INA Holding Schaeffler KG, Rockwell Automation and The SKF Group to create a brand alliance to provide web-based services and integrated logistics for its industrial bearings and related products.

In May 2001, the company announced the launch of the Timken Store on PTplace.com, serving authorized Timken distributors in the U.S.

In October, the company’s e-business scope expanded to Western Europe with the launch of Timken-branded products and services on Endorsia.com.

In December, Timken launched Trading-Block, an online inventory management tool enabling all Timken U.S. industrial bearing distributors to buy and sell Timken bearings.
