July 13, 2001 — Spirent Systems Aerospace Solutions of San Diego, Calif., has been selected by Lockheed Martin UK Integrated Systems Ltd. in the United Kingdom to supply its new AuRA Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) software solution for its Merlin Tracking Inventory Control System program, part of the Merlin Support and Spares Availability System program.
Lockheed Martin UK Integrated Systems is prime contractor and systems integrator for the Royal Navy’s Merlin Mk1 anti-submarine warfare helicopter. Lockheed Martin has established a depot at the Royal Naval Air Station at Culdrose in Cornwall, which is the main operating base for the Merlin, to hold spares and repairables and act as a clearing house with its vendors.
The Merlin Tracking Inventory Control System is the networked set of IT systems that track assets and manage inventory.
