New Hamburg, Ont. — Ontario Drive and Gear will hold a ceremony June 8, 2001, to mark the opening of a new 40,000 sq ft manufacturing and administrative facility in New Hamburg, Ont., which will allow ODG to focus its operations in two new divisions: Vehicle and Gear.
Organizing its operations into two separate yet integrated divisions will allow ODG to better target research and development efforts. Previously, both products were made in one plant across the road from the new one.
"Our new facilities are a watershed event for ODG," says Joerg Stieber, president of ODG. "Our vehicle division and our gear division will build on existing synergies, while keeping a tight focus on our customers’ specific needs. In short, we will be able to respond more quickly and efficiently to consumer demands."
In the gear division, ODG has invested in the latest gear hobbing CNC technology. The vehicle division will continue to produce amphibious ATV off-road vehicles under the Argo and Centaur brands.
