KSB’s updated Amarex KRT submersible pump series for wastewater applications

Mississauga, ONKSB Pumps has introduced a new generation of its Amarex KRT family of heavy-duty submersible pumps for water and wastewater applications. The new pumps are available with power ratings of up to 850 kW, the highest standard motor power in the industry. Standard models feature outputs of up to 10,080 cubic metres per hour and heads as high as 120 metres.

KSB’s engineers have optimized the design of the Amarex KRT pumps to maximize hydraulic efficiency under the operating conditions typically encountered by large wastewater treatment pumps. Reliability and long service life have also received careful attention. The motor chamber is protected from water ingress by features such as bi-directional mechanical seals and a large oil-filled chamber separating the motor from the impeller. Resin-sealed cable entries eliminate the possibility of water seepage between strands of the power cables. Generously dimensioned sealed ball bearings support the sturdy stainless steel shaft. To ensure that the pumps can be easily dismantled, even after years of operation under harsh conditions, all fasteners in wetted areas are made of stainless steel. For maximum versatility under different wastewater conditions, four impeller types are available. KSB offers several casing and impeller material choices to ensure long service life in the presence of acid water or abrasive solids. A version with a built-in cooling jacket is available for dry-well installations.

Amarex KRT pumps are ideal for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment facilities and can effectively handle raw sewage, activated or digested sludge and fluids containing dissolved gases.
