Mississauga, ON – Festo designed the new ESBF series of heavy-duty electrical cylinders with spindle drive to provide best-in-class flexibility and control in high load applications. These clean-look, high-power mechanical linear drives with piston rod are intended for applications needing dynamic forces from as little as 300 N to as much as 17,000 N: that’s like getting hydraulic performance, but with electrical cleanliness and efficiency. The ESBF is available in six sizes, from 32 to 100 mm, and can provide maximum stroke lengths of 800-1,500 mm depending on the size selected.

The ESBF has 36 standard options as well as optional variants and special strokes. Options include IP65, Corrosion Class 3, bellows protection as well as food grade lubricant (NSF-H1) and sealing and sensors that make ESBF drives suitable for operation in arduous splash zones. The bellows protection kit is a leak-free system to protect the piston rod, seal and bearings against unwanted media like dust, oil, grease or filings. Users also can opt to introduce positive pressure in applications in areas with airborne pollution or dust by using Festo’s unique breathing port on the ESBF, improving process reliability even further. An added plus: the ESBF is lubricated for life, reducing maintenance requirements. Festo offers a range of ideally paired motors and other accessories for each ESBF configuration, including servo and stepper motors and integrated drive/gear units.
