New round of maintenance management certification courses launches in January

Slave Lake, AB – Did you know you can obtain your Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification through online courses, plus get a discount if you register before Dec. 20, 2013? These courses are delivered live online, so you can access them wherever you have a device and an Internet connection. The next course schedule runs from January to June, 2014.

Developed and authorized by the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada (PEMAC) and made available online by Northern Lakes College in Slave Lake, AB, the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) Certification Program consists of eight modules.

Module 1: An Integrated Strategy for Maintenance Management. This module introduces you to an integrated and holistic approach to maintenance and asset management. The cost is $395 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $85.51+shipping+GST).

Module 1 takes place Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan 13-27, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m., or Tuesdays, Jan 14-Feb 11, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (you can save 5% on either one if you register by Dec 20). Module 1 also will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 6-20, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Apr 15), or Wednesdays, May 7-Jun 4, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (Save 5% if you register by Apr 16th).

Module 2: Production and Operations Management for the Maintenance Manager. This module links maintenance strategies with those of production and operations. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $150.14+shipping+GST).

Module 2 takes place Mondays, Feb 3-Apr 14, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Jan 13), or Wednesdays, Apr 2-Jun 4, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Mar 12), or Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jun 3-Jul 8, 2014, 4:30-7:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by May 13).

Module 3: Human Resource Management for the Maintenance Manager. This module looks at how human resources practices relate to the maintenance environment. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $175.18+shipping+GST).

Module 3 takes place Thursdays, Feb 6-Apr 10, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Jan 16), or Mondays and Wednesdays, May 5-Jun 9, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Apr 14)

Module 4: Financial Management for the Maintenance Manager. This module focuses on the application of accounting and finance principles as it pertains to the maintenance management role. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $118.33+shipping+GST).

Module 4 takes place Wednesdays, Jan 15-Mar 19, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Dec 20), or Mondays, Feb 24-May 5, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Feb 3).

Module 5: Developing & Implementing Maintenance Tactics. This module focuses on maintenance efforts to ensure that physical assets safely, capably, reliably and repeatedly perform to their designed specifications. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $92.53+shipping+GST).

Module 5 takes place Tuesdays, Jan 14-Mar 18, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Dec 20), or Thursdays, Apr 3-Jun 5, 2014, 4:30-7:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Mar 13).

Module 6: Maintenance Work Management. This module provides a study of the fundamental principles of the planning and scheduling process in addition to the basics of planning, scheduling and work coordination methods. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $86.73+shipping+GST)

Module 5 takes place Mondays, Feb 24-May 5, 2014, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Feb 3rd), or Tuesdays, Apr 15-Jun 17, 2014, 4:30-7:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Mar 25)

Module 7: Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). This module is a study of the features, benefits and the effective use of a CMMS or EAM computerized maintenance work management process. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $74.88+shipping+GST).

Module 7 takes place Thursdays, Apr 3-Jun 5, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Mar 13).

Module 8: Capstone Course. Working in small groups or teams, students will select a project that will audit, assess and improve their current maintenance departments or develop a new maintenance strategy in their company or resolve a significant maintenance issue within their departments. The cost is $795 per person plus materials/shipping (materials are $8.40+shipping+GST).

Module 5 takes place Tuesdays, Feb 4-Apr 8, 2014, 6:30-9:30 p.m. (save 5% if you register by Jan 14).

Module 1 is 15 hours (five three-hour sessions) and Modules 2-8 are 30 hours each (10 three-hour sessions). You will need access to high-speed internet, and a microphone/speakers (preferably a headset) to participate. All times are on Mountain Time Zone.

Individuals who successfully complete all eight Modules and are members of the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada will receive the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) designation from PEMAC.
