Koyo to fully integrate Torrington bearing line

Burlington, ON – Koyo Canada reports that JTEKT Corporation, the parent company of Koyo in Japan, which acquired the Torrington needle roller bearing division from Timken in 2010, will implement a full integration of the brand starting on January 1, 2013.  Needle roller bearings, branded Koyo-Torrington until the end of 2012, will then bear the Koyo logo exclusively, thus adding to the complete range of Koyo ball and roller bearings.

The Torrington acquisition created one of the world's largest needle roller bearing manufacturers.

The recent decision was justified by the advances in the integration of the ball, roller and needle bearing businesses under the umbrella of JTEKT, the company says. JTEKT was formed in 2006 when Koyo and Toyoda Machine Works merged. The company had 2010 revenues of $8.2 billion.
