Mississauga, ON – Gray Tools Canada Inc., the only industrial-quality manufacturer of hand tools in Canada, today donated a range of hand tools, valued at $20,000, to five vocational schools within the Peel District School Board on Ontario. The tools were presented to representatives from the five schools at an event at West Credit Secondary School in Mississauga.

“Students in vocational programs often become the skilled tradespeople of tomorrow and we saw an opportunity to help ensure that students have the right tools while learning a trade in school,” says Gary Nuttall, president and owner of Gray Tools. “There seems to be a shortage of tradespeople at the moment, something we’ve seen ourselves, and this is one small way that we can give back to the community and contribute to build the next generation of skilled workers.”

Gray Tools is a premier brand among professionals in the industrial markets (mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, automotive) over the past 100 years in Canada. The company has supported the Peel District School Board in the past and, last year, presented the Gray Tools Canada Highest Standard Achievement Award to a graduating student from Judith Nyman Secondary School in Brampton, ON.

“For us, this donation and our relationship with Gray Tools is an example of how businesses and school boards can work together to prepare students for our future economy,” says Scott Moreash, associate director of instructional support services, Peel District School Board. “We provide a range of innovative programs for students, and Gray Tools is helping to equip our programs with industry-standard tools — the same tools students will be using when they enter the workforce. Having access to these resources will make a significant difference for students studying skilled trades.”

Gray Tools donated a range of hand tools, including: U-Joint socket sets, rapid wrench sets and ratcheting tube wrenches, locking pliers and clamps, chisels, screwdriver, and hex key sets. The company also donated a nine-drawer Pro Series Roller Cabinet to each of the schools to hold the new tools, as well as a hand tool guidebook to be used as an in class reference text (it includes safety tips and insights into the proper use and care of hand tools).

Gray Tools Canada Inc. (www.graytools.com) of Brampton, ON, has been manufacturing high-quality hand tools since 1912. The company currently offers more than 6,000 industrial product solutions and operates two warehouses in Canada.
